Brave Brews Voted No. 5 Beer Festival

A panel of beer experts and USA TODAY 10Best editors nominated Brave Brews Festival as one of the Top 20 Readers’ Choice Beer Festivals in the country. After a month-long public voting period, Brave Brews and Prison City’s FIRE & ICE Festival landed in a Top 10 spot ranking on the leaderboard as the No. 5 Best Beer Festival.

Come experience a weekend to remember in the place Where Brave Women Winter, featuring special guests, specialty tours, and the coolest brewfest in town.

Join us for the third annual winter festival in Auburn, NY, supporting the women and non-binary individuals of New York’s burgeoning craft beverage industry in the epicenter of equal rights heritage.

The City of Auburn’s Brave Brews: Celebrating Women in Craft Beverage Festival was inspired by the inclusive message and six-year success of the Pink Boots Society® Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day® held at Prison City Brewing each March.

This annual ritual hosted by Prison City Co-Owner Dawn Schulz is now part of an expanded weekend to kickoff Women’s History Month and create a welcoming environment for fermented/alcoholic beverage professionals and consumers. The 2024 event will again feature special guests and the flagship event, Prison City Fire & Ice Festival.

History tells us that it takes a brave woman to thrive in a Finger Lakes winter. As the epicenter of the women's rights movement, this fiercely beautiful region celebrates women both past and present.

Spend your day exploring Cayuga County, honoring local historic trailblazers like Harriet Tubman and Frances Seward, and supporting the many women-owned businesses.

New this year, Cayuga and surrounding counties are featuring “Brave Women Week.” This weeklong celebration, which includes International Women's Day on March 8, features themed events and specials at women-owned businesses.
